Queen Anne Period Walnut Pair of Footstools

An exceptionally rare pair of Queen Anne period Walnut footstools. Each having a fretted 'Cupid's Bow' shaped freieze with Holly line inlay. The voluptuous Cabriole legs are joined by a shaped cross stretcher which has a turned finial where the two cross and finish in a delicate pad foot. The stools have been re- covered in a fabulous John Boyd horsehair fabric and are in a fine state of preservation. Pairs of Footstools from this period are nearly always separated from each other, therefore it is extremely fortuitous that these have remained together for over 300 years.
